Vision Design for Results

The Vision Design Group utilizes modular methodologies for viability analyses and resulting benefits management. It is therefore possible to select only those modules pertaining to your own situation. Preliminary work already carried out in the areas of cost and benefit analysis may be incorporated if desired.

Here are the modules or steps of a typical approach:

Step 1: Preparation

In order to carry out an investment analysis, the customer must form a department independent team. Representatives from EDP, administration and management will be necessary as well as from the individual departments affected.

Step 2: Analysis of Current Situation

Company goals, main tasks, factors critical to success and financial figures will be worked out.

Step 3: Investment Planning

Investment and its relation to company goals and work processes will be presented in detail.

Step 4: Influences on, and Effects of, Investment

The functionality of planned investments are analyzed with respect to the current situation and all positive and negative influences codified.

Step 5: Expectations of Benefits

Investment effects worked out in step 4 undergo cost of ownership quantification. Benefits are also quantified as much as possible or presented in the form of qualitative advantages.

Step 6: Modeling

Qualified cost or benefits potential is modeled and entered into normal corporate financial structures such as capital value or internal interest rate calculations. Benefits which are not quantifiable are associated with identified company goals, their degree of support noted and weighted.

Step 7: Risk Analysis

A further possibility is risk analysis, which assigns success-critical cost and benefit variables to a risk bandwidth and models the resulting profitability.

Step 8: Summary and Presentation

The main results of the study are summarized for presentation to decision makers, enhanced by recommendations for further action.

Step 9: Benefits Management including Measurement Criteria and Introduction Strategies

A benefits management concept and introduction strategy (pilots, time, etc.) is put together and measurement criteria for successful implementation defined together with management.
